About the Hip or Groin injury

3. Martial Arts
4. Rock Climbing

Or hip pain may have come on without a clear cause, more often in women over 40.

Injuries to the hip or groin are often closely linked and can be difficult to distinguish the primary contributing factors. The nature of the pain or injury may be acute (a sudden onset such as a sporting injury), or may have come about gradually, with symptoms often persisting for months or years.

What type of injuries do we see?

The hip is the largest joint of the human body. It is designed for strength, stability in weight bearing and also allows a large range of motion. The common injuries include:

1. Femeroacetabular Impingement (FAI)
2. Labral tear
3. Osteoarthritis
4. Gluteal Tendinopathy/ Burisitis
5. “Osteitis Pubis,” which may include: Adductor or Abdominal Tendinopathy Bone stress injury

Regardless of whether the injury is acute or longer term, RHP Physiotherapy provides a thorough and carefully considered examination. Our experienced clinicians aim to decifer the cause of the issue and set you in the right direction.
